Art in Progress

So this painting is called ‘In The Shadow of the Shard’.

I don’t know how many people name their paintings before they are created, but I’m a lazy painter and so they have a long gestation or perhaps a procrastination before they ever, if ever, see the light of day. They have become friends if not pets, pet projects anyway, and who doesn’t name their pets?

I’ll apologise here for working from a photo, but I ‘saw’ the painting while I was in temporary accommodation in London and there was not going to be time or energy for me to realise my artwork there, so with my camera phone I found the perfect perspective and went back at different times and weathers until I found the light I liked best.
